Senarium story takes place on the planet of Crystalia.
Crystalia is composed by a a lot of element which make it near our word than a lot of other fictional one.
In fact, the focus was made on the background of each continent, country, city and even each secondary characters
Every place has is caracteristics that are explicable because of their geography or history. Thus, every place has their own personality and release an unique atmosphere
We never have the impression to explore the same town because every one of them are marked with religions, species, sports, geography, politic, cities, wars, flora and fauna, tale and legend, festivities .... Creating a real diversity.
Many political party are governing Crystalia without a distinction made between the true law and criminality.
The player is free to interpret each actions of these parties as good or bad. Thereby, the government isn't always right and the one considered as bad are because of a good reason.
You're free to choose who to trust, follow and believe.

While you will not be abandoned in an open word without any guide, the player will be orientated towards secondary and annex content that is often richer than the main plot
Sometimes, full dungeon or cities aren't obligatory to make the story progress.
That said, their exploration will allow the player to master more skill or just learn more about the Senarium universe.
While it's very possible for the player to only see principal event it is also tempting to get lost in a big city while talking to every single one of the secondary characters.
But why ? Because NPC aren't useless like in most of RPG games. In Senarium, most of the NPC have a least 10 reply that will inform the player on every single caracteristic of the universe as well as their choice impact.
Every NPC has a role to play, an identity and an unique character. Every one of them will be useful in your adventure depending on your choices.

The game has is own lot of dilemma linked to the main plot. There is no good or bad choices, it's more subtle because the idea of law, justice, evil and criminal are shaded in Senarium.
Therefore, it has impossible to satisfy everyone, that's were some sacrifice have to be made.
After a choice some will consider you as their hero while others while shiver just by hearing your name.
These shades modifies the quests available as much as the main plot. So, beware of your choices consequences.
Fear is a product of our imagination. Our imagination isn't logical as much as our fear aren't real, in the end it's just a choice.
Except all of the possibility that are open for the player while his exploration, Senarium also has a battle system which is not botched.
The bet was to propose a simple gameplay while still having a lot of variety.
While playing the game, you will learn skills from a skill tree. However, each point spend in a specific branch will weaken the opposite branch.
For exemple if you increase a character attack he will loose defense. If you increase his fire resistance he will loose water resistance, etc ...
This will only be a minor problem if the enemy in the game where look alike. And that's not the case. While your evolution method could be effective on a enemy type it would be pathetic against another type.
Consequently, it's to te player to always think of a new strategy based on what he learned on his opponent. This give a real strategic proportion to combat phase because each enemy has is own specificity that the player can discover when he is exploring.
